Good to know for employers who employ or want to employ tolerated persons: According to a new directive from the Saxon Minister of the Interior, Armin Schuster, the immigration authorities must actively advise tolerated persons who are eligible for the right of residence. Furthermore, Saxon authorities must refrain from initiating deportation measures in the case of such persons.

Tolerated persons can obtain information and advice on the right of residence from the Saxon Refugee Council.

The right of residence for tolerated persons has been in force since December 31, 2022. People who have been living in Germany for five years without interruption until October 31, 2022 are eligible for this.
