On March 28, Sylvia Pfefferkorn from the WWS Executive Board and Tobias Genswein, consultant at the Immigration Information Center (FIZU), were guests at the 2nd Agriculture and Food Industry Symposium in Eilenburg.
The event, organized by the Economic Development Agency of the district of North Saxony, informed interested entrepreneurs about topics such as regional value creation, environmentally friendly agriculture – and securing skilled workers through international skilled workers, who are also urgently needed in the agriculture and food industry. Sylvia Pfefferkorn invited those present to see the influx of skilled workers as an opportunity and to take advantage of the WWS workshop offer. Tobias Genswein explained how the specialist information centers support immigrants and companies in the visa process with integration issues.
Participants were also able to hear testimonials from companies as well as from international employees and trainees. This gave a vivid impression of what intercultural integration means, but also how valuable foreign employees are for companies.
